About Us

Mission Community Bank is the only Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) bank serving the Central Coast of California. The U.S. Department of Treasury’s CDFI Fund aim is to expand the capacity of financial institutions to serve populations and communities lacking adequate access to financial products and services. Our mission is to be the leading bank to local businesses and promote community development and economic vitality. To accomplish this we:

*target small and start-up business financing and development lending,
*grow commercial, Small Business Administration and government guaranteed lending, emphasizing commercial and business loans and placing special attention on serving women and minority-owned businesses, and
*design and implement financial products and services for the communities we serve, including emerging market lending programs, and community development loans and investments.

Since 1998, Mission Community Bank has made 2,601 loans benefitting our low-income target market worth $540 million, and has provided 309 loans and $54 million for affordable housing units. These results have been achieved primarily in San Luis Obispo County. But now with a branch office in Santa Maria, which opened in December 2008, we can more fully provide the bank’s expertise and commitment to target markets in northern Santa Barbara County.

The bank provides loans to businesses, individuals and non-profit organizations which result in positive community development impacts, including:

*Jobs created or retained from small business loans,
*Affordable housing units developed from the financing we provide, and
*First-Time account holders from target market businesses and individuals.

We view community development as a natural element of our role as a community bank. It is a business discipline intended to assist the communities we serve in achieving local economic development. Your deposits in Mission Community Bank are put to work locally, helping businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals throughout the Central Coast.
